General Information

The Costa Calida has an enviable climate with over 300 days of sunshine and has been choosen as the site for the proposed new Paramount Theme Park with construction planned to start  in  2012.

Murcia is the capital of the province with a wealth of history as well as modern shopping facilities at the Thader shopping centre. El Corte Ingles and The Murcia Nueva Condiminium.

Cartegena is a coastal town with historic Roman connections and architecture. Today it has links as a Spanish Navy port . You can take a bus tour around the town or a boat trip around the harbour. The wide promenade is lined with restaurants and cafes with beautiful harbour views.

Puerto de Mazarron is a beautiful fishing port with a large marina and expansive promenade with lively bars, restaurants and cafes. There are several miles of clean sandy beaches with views across the bay. There is a bustling market on Sundays with bargains for everyone as well as opportunities to buy fresh fruit and vegetables at incredible prices.

Restaurants. As well as on site facilities at Condado serving tapas and and a range of other choices, the port at Mazarron has some delightful but inexpensive restaurants . There are also chinese, indian and traditional restaurants at Camposol, a develpment around 10 minutes away.

Airports

The area is currently served by 2 airports - San Javier ( around 40 minutes) and Alicante ( around 65 minutes). Low cost airlines fly to both airports from a number of UK airports. (Ryanair, Easy Jet, Jet 2, Monarch)

A new airport has been constructed at Corvera which will open in early 2013. This will be  around  a 25 minutes drive . We can arrange collection from the airport and put you in touch with reasonably priced car hire companies.

Skiing

Spain is not generally noted for its Ski resorts but the Sierra Nevada near to Granada has some excellent slopes for both beginners and more experienced skiers and is well served with lifts and two gondalas to the main slopes. There are some reasonable hotels and a good selection of bars and restaurants in the town of Pradollano at the foot of the main Gondola.  It is around a three hour drive on  good roads from Condado. There are two sets of reasonable Skis available ( around 165 cm)in the 2 bedroom  ground floor apartment and a set of size 9 Ski boots.
